More swimming fun...

This is just a little clip of Gus jumping in the pool.

LOL He's crazy! =0P

Swimming fun

YAY! Summer is finally here!

Sunday was finally a nice hot day, so we decided the best way to celebrate is with buying a pool. Gus loved it! He thought that he could run and jump into the pool, but with 14.5 inch sides, he couldn't quite make it over. (He's vertically challenged kinda like his mom! lol) So he'd jump, catch the side and belly flop into the pool. At first this is a nerve racking thing to watch, but he'd just roll over and stand up and laugh! The kid has no fear! He's going to be the death of me. ;) By the time I finally got him to go inside for a minute his lips were blue. There was no filling the pool and letting it warm up in the sun. Oh no! We had to get in it as soon as the water level was rising. We have been doing swim class again this year so I'm pretty sure that's part of why he's so comfortable with getting his head wet now, but I'm thinking that I've got a little fish on my hands now! Watch out summer time here Gus comes! =0)

Miller Speed Way Super Bikes

On Sunday we went to the super bike races down at Miller Speed Way. I have one word for you... AWESOME!!! This is easily my new favorite sport. The Speed Way was is really cool, we were on the east side of the track by "The Club House", it's the fourth to last turn on the track. You could walk from our grandstands down into the venues, over to the south grandstands by "Tooele's Corner". Man there were a million people there. I bet it was even more packed over in the grandstands at the Start/Finish Line. It was good to go with Jared and Wendy too. They've been to a few of the races in the past and filled us in on things. Jared knew all about the racers, which is to be expected from him. ;) The first race was an 1100cc class won by a Texan Ben Speis, he was awesome. Had a four second lead in the first couple laps. There two wrecks in the sixth lap, one was serious enough the race was red flagged. After about fifteen minutes the bikes were brought back out and the race was back on. I guess I already gave away the ending of that one!

The second race was a 600cc class. Again it was a tight race. I don't remember the racers names of this one but the whole time the race was dominated by four guys. Everyone thought that the guy leading the whole time was going to win. On the last lap, the guy in second went on the inside at The Club House, they bumped and he pulled out first. It was almost sad during the cool down lap. The guy that you thought was going to win was beating himself up pretty bad all the way around the track.

The third and final race was another 1100cc class, man those things are fast! I just can't say enough how awesome these races were to go to. Well Ben Speis won the last race too, this one was closer though. He seemed to have the lead through the whole race, but when the time came down to it. He only one by about 1.32 seconds. Will we go again you might ask? I say were there like flies on poop every year! The only thing that is upsetting is that this was the only US race in the series this year! Oh well we've told everyone we know, we're all going back next year!!

SPRINKLER FUN!

For Easter we got Gus this cute snake sprinkler. We finally were able to break it out on Mothers day. He and Kyler had a blast with it. It took a few minute for them to actually run through it, but once they figured that out Gus thought it was pretty fun to jump on the snake it's self.

Gussy for sale!

Gus for sale!! Comes with own create, started house breaking and no longer uses the bottle! HA- HA!

So Gus has found a new favorite toy! You guessed it! He loves the dog create! Now don't be getting all mad at me, it's clean. Layne was out digging out the side yard and Gus, of coarse was helping him. When Gus found the dog create that we got from the neighbors because the latch is broken off of it. Now every time we are out side Gus pushes over the create and climbs in!

I thought about titling the "Shh, don't tell child services!" But thought that might get us in a bit of trouble. LOL

See I told you he can come and go as he pleases! Cause if you know Gus you know he only does as he pleases!!! I'm telling you if I would have know about dog creates being so much fun earlier, I'd have locked him up a long time ago! ha-ha He tries to get me and Layne to go in with him, but as soon as we act like we are going to, he realises that he doesn't really want us in with him.

Gusaroo!

Just wanted to post this pic really! Gus got up and brought me his snow boots. He wore them most the morning. I took them off when I finally got to change his butt. The funny thing is when I got out of the shower he and Layne were out side. What was he wearing you ask?? Well he was still in his PJ's, his red Reebok jacket, and his cowboy boots! Yeah I wish I'd have got that pic!! Ha ha, he cracks me up. So much personality, sometimes I just want to squeeze him! =)

Yet another party!

Another year has come and gone, and what does that get you?? A neighbor hood party in the garage of corse! YEAH! OK really, I had fun and all but it wasn't quit my first choice for my birthday. I wanted to go out dancing and shake my bootie, but who's to say I didn't still shake it in the garage? Ha ha.

I have the best neighbors in the world! Some of my best friends, and we're all so close it just takes a quick walk around the block and every one is together! So I didn't get to go shake my sillies off, I still got to hang out and have a good time with great friends. Sillies... you and I have a date some other night to go shake the night away!!

HAPPY 30TH TRESSA!

I know, I'm a little late getting this out here but oh well! Friday the 6th was Tressa's 30th b-day, and Wayne hired me to throw her a surprise party, the theme... Marty Gras of course! It was such an awesome night! Wayne got absolutely everyone there, work friends, old friends, new friends, neighbors, and some family even. The plan: Wayne took Tressa to dinner and her mother watched Kyler. Mean while I and a few accomplices went to the house to decorate, prepare snacks, and wait for Tressa. This pic here was just after they came into the surprise and Tressa was crowned for the night. (Murphy had to get in on the surprise too!)

I believe that everyone enjoyed them selves, but here is some good proof that we girls had a good time! From left to right the girls behind the masks: Bree, Amber, Me, Wendy, and Tressa.
It's been a long time since we've had just a good all around party, and much longer since I've stayed up that late! But around 3, it was time for everyone to call it a night. The food nearly gone, (all but the ton of salad Wayne bought! ha ha) too much drank, beads thrown, and masks everywhere, but everyone made it home safely, and I think we can all agree that always makes a good night better!

Well like I said it's a little late, but Happy Birthday Tressa! (I won't mention you age again! lol)

Happy Valentine's Day???

Awe, Valentine's Day! A day of warm hugs, and red roses, and pink hearts, and candy, and all that mushy stuff. So why is it so white!?! You know the saying "If you don't like the weather in Utah wait ten minutes..." I've known that all my life, why is it so hard to wrap my head around six inches of snow on Valentines Day!?

Don't get me wrong, I usually like the snow! I love the perfect white world it leaves behind, but for some reason... NOT TODAY!!! Maybe I just being selfish, kinda lonely, maybe it's just cabin fever. Oh well it's still beautiful! I hope you didn't get the wrong idea of what I said before, you know the whole lonely, and selfish thing. Nothings wrong, Layne's on call. Of coarse, he was on call Christmas weekend, and got called out first think that morning. And now it's Valentine's Day, his turn on call, and the first big snow storm in, oh about a month! It's kinda funny ya know! Gets me off the hook though, I just got him a stupid card. Do you know what he did? HE got a hair cut and shaved!!! Gus thought a stranger came home last night! I try not to show that I kinda prefer him like this, but I like to be able to find his cheeks! Any way, before he left this morning, Gus and I went out to play in the snow while he cleared the drive and walks. (and half the road!) HAHA He cracks me up sometimes! So to all of you out there cuddled up to the one's you love. Lucky ducks, you sicken me! LOL Love you all, and Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

Christmas Morning!

Christmas morning! OH what a fun time Christmas was. Even though two days before the biggest catastrophe ever hit my family, Christmas was great! OK I'll tell really quick, but I'm not dwelling on it! I do that too much these days. At 2 AM on December 23rd, my mom's house caught fire and was a total loss. Don't feel bad, my sister and I decided that this was the best Christmas our family has ever had. My mom and Brother were here to celebrate it with us and it renewed our faith in the kindness of people! Anyway, I said that I wasn't dwelling on it! Look at my hadsome man trying to wake up on Christmas morning. Ok he already saw his presents, but that's still a sleepy, happy man!

How do I start a blog?

Hello everybody! My name is Dori and this is Gus, he is my man, the love of my life. (Right along with his daddy Layne, that is!) This picture was taken at his first B-day, one of the craziest days of my life! If you haven't planned a one year old's birthday party you are one of the lucky ones! Thirty invitations!! And that's pretty much all family, OK there were four friends too! But when you husband is the youngest of ten kids, everything seems huge! I always swore that I wasn't going to have kids, I was always going to be one my self, but Gus has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can't imagine my life with out him ever! He is a little ball of energy, that makes me laugh even when he's making me mad. "Making me mad!?" One year old's don't do that do they? He is just up to everything, and learning more and more every day. That reminds me... Has anyone seen the DVD remote??

LOVE MY GUS
